Run # 34 - The Two Run Run

I did two runs today - one with my friend John at Tempe Town Lake. The goal was to run 20 minutes but John started out too fast and we stopped at the 13 minute mark. It was blistering hot again- all indications were it was at least 106 by the time we started at 7:15. This one kept the streak alive, as we ran 1.33 miles. John is one of my doubters - he thinks my streak won't even last 3 months. So John, I know you're reading this: I challenge you to be able to complete the 20 minute run with me sometime. Let me know when you're ready buddy. And remember to save that sprint for the last 5 minutes of the run, not the first 5. I was proud of John though because he said he would do 10 minute miles at a minimum, but by my calculations we did our first mile in about 9:15.

The second run was one in which I added the hills again - two loops on the map. One of the three readers of this blog (myself included) knows I hate doing loops, but I have a 5:30 AM hike planned so I decided to suck it up and not wander too far from my house. In the process, I decided to keep running. It was a decent run, I thought I ran much slower than the time shows, but I'm up to 15.5 miles for the week so I'm happy.
