I dedicated this run to Michael Jordan because it was my 23rd consecutive run and I used his jersey number to remember the time I started it. I looked at my watch at it was exactly 9:23. Since I literally had only eaten a Cliff bar, some Cheez Its, a piece of string cheese, a Rockstar Energy drink, and some sunflower seeds the entire day, my goal was to merely run for 10 minutes to keep the streak alive, then try to make it back in 9 or less.
Above is how I did it. I started off pretty slow, running for 10 minutes and 45 seconds until I literally came up a street sign entitled Hoh. So I took advantage of the Hoh and turned around. From there, I tried to run as fast as I could back to my house. That time was 9 minutes and 10 seconds. So my overall average 9 minutes and 46 seconds each way. I calculated that each way was 1.13 miles so for a total of 2.26 miles it took me 19 minutes and 55 seconds. 8 minutes and 49 seconds per mile. That sucks. But I'll still run tomorrow and if I can just add 24 miles to an 8 minute and 49 second pace, I'll be content, for at least until the next marathon.
