Run # 217 - The Cold Minnesota Run.

15 minutes around a few blocks in Uptown Minneapolis. I ran around the same place in the summer, but further.

Run # 216 - The Sleeping Moon Off Day Run

I am flying to Minnesota tonight, so I wanted to get this one done in Arizona during the early morning hours.

And by early morning, I mean around 1 AM.

This was just over a mile at 1:15 AM.

Run #215 - The Return of Music Run

I was really looking forward to this because I had my I Pod again.

Some say they love running without music and I just can't relate.

I have pretty much stopped timing my runs, I just know the distance is always over one mile (usually 1-2 miles per day as of late) so the streak continues.

It's been 24 days since the marathon and they say you don't fully recover until day 26 or 27 but I'm feeling just fine now.

Run # 214 - The Drunk Girl Yelling Run

On the road for the 214th day in a row, I ran with no music (a rarity).

I also ran in long pants (another rarity) and dress socks (something I've never done).

Those oddities didn't match up with what I experienced at the end of this near-2 mile run.

A car was making a left turn as I approached an intersection. It's not often, but from time to time I will go toe-to-toe with a moving vehicle.

My friend Chuck has told me in the past that I pretty much freak out when I cross intersections (I usually stop completely) but this time I just ran right into it.

The car didn't come close to hitting me, but a girl who was riding in it yelled out "We just saw your life flash right before your eyes...." or something to that drunk effect.

I guess I was annoyed but I appreciated the experience so I could write about it. And I will guarantee to wear my headphones next time, because I've never had fun listening to a drunk girl yelling I've been while running.

Run # 213 - The Fully Clothed Nello's Run

I ate dinner around 9:30 pm at Nello's, a fantastic pizzeria/restaurant/pizza joint just over a mile from my house.

I also drank two beers and noticed it was about 10:15 pm when I was getting ready to leave.

I devised a simple plan.

Rather than driving home, changing into running clothes, and then heading back outside around 11 pm or so, I'd just run home from the restaurant - fully clothed.

So in a long sleeved shirt, jeans, and shoddy running shoes, I took off from Nello's parking lot and ran straight home.

It was surprising to me that I ran at about the same pace I usually run at, even though my shoes came untied right away.

I credit the alcohol for not making me think too much to slow me down.

Even though this post might be my most entertaining so far, I'm still in awe over what this running streak freak is doing.

If I'm ever living and running in South Beach, I hope I too am a wooly mammoth with friends.

Run # 212 - The Monday Night Thank God The Vikings Won Run

Monday Night Football delayed my run as the Vikings played JV High School style football against the Chicago Bears.

I had severe anxiety they would blow it, but somehow, some way, they didn't.

So my initial thoughts were I'd be running angry for 1.74 miles but I was actually able to run with some joy as the Vikings won 20-13.

This run took me 13 minutes. I haven't mapped it yet, but I feel like I ran much faster than usual. Perhaps the 12 sugar cookies I ate right before it helped me.

Run # 211 - The Off Day Toniko Run

Another simple 1.46 to keep the streak going.

This was a day when I had no desire to run, but felt great after finishing.

Run # 210 - The Hoh Run

The weather was great during the day and I should have run in the afternoon.

Instead, I did what I typically do. I waited until about 10 pm, ran for about 18 minutes up to Hoh and back and put run # 210 in the books.

Run #211 Sunday night. I've decided it will be an off day.

Run # 209 - The 15 Minute How Far Can I Go Run

I had fifteen minutes to get this done.

I needed at least a mile.

I ended up with TBA.

Run # 208 - The A Bit Longer New North Phoenix Run

Approximately 1.74 miles in 15 minutes.

It was cold outside but I enjoyed it.

In one week, I will be back in Minnesota where today's temperature is 12 degrees.

So was it really cold outside?

Run # 207 - The New North Phoenix "Off Day" Run

I found a 1.13 mile trail in North Phoenix that I enjoy and so that's the run I took for # 206.

It's getting colder and harder to breathe.

Tonight I wore a snow hat and it reminded me of the 2007 PF Chang's Marathon.

Why do I run?

In 2008, I want to run earlier in the day and for longer periods of time.

I hate the morning.

Run # 206 - The Repeating the First Run Run

Starting at 11:18 pm, I decided to run the first running route of the streak.

I finished up in just about 23 minutes, besting the time I originally did by about a minute or so.

The streak seems to annoy me at times, but I realize when it does that its actually the blogging about it.

I posted a while back about how I was going to make this blog more appealing, but the thought of exerting effort to do that also annoys me.

Run # 205 - A Typical Toniko Run

A long day of work, colder, rainier weather, and a simple lack of motivation and all I could muster was 1.46 miles.

I ran with no music though, which was a rarity. It enabled me to stop breathing like a hyena. I was successful at times, and completely unsuccessful at others.

Run # 204 - The Fiesta Bowl 5K attempt run

Woke up at the crack of dawn to head to Scottsdale for the Fiesta Bowl 5K.

I was tired and lethargic and I only ran 2 miles of it until my running partner (who has asked to remain anonymous) decided it was in their best interest to stop.

It didn't matter to me, I enjoyed walking a mile and then running the final .1.

One week has now passed since the marathon, so I better start running more this week.

That's wishful thinking though with another marathon right around the corner on January 13th.

Run # 203 - The 5K practice run

Keisha and I decided to run just over a mile to prepare for the 7:30 AM 5K the next day.

Run # 202 - A Rare Rainy Run

A short 12 minute run in the rain. I should have run longer but the week after a marathon entitles me to be lazy.

Run # 201 - 200 re-visited

A replica of Run # 200, just faster and I am noticing I have some type of ankle injury.

Run # 200 - The 1.5 mile Run for 200

I wanted to get 2 miles in but I just followed a gal I call Keisha around the block of an unfamiliar territory.

It was at about a 12 minute pace and I really enjoyed it.

My limbs have returned to normal (almost).

Run # 199 - The Day Two Marathon Recovery Run

I decided I would take the day off, so I ran 1.14 miles and called it a night.

Hopefully I will be able to do something interesting for run # 200.

Run # 198 - The Most Difficult Run of the Streak (so far)

A simple 1.46 that was utterly painful.

Run # 197 - The Tucson Marathon Run

The longest run of the streak (obviously) and I set a personal best marathon time of 4 hours and 14 minutes.

I was upset with it as I thought I could go faster but I didn't want to jeopardize my ability to run, let alone walk, the following day in order to continue the streak.

Run # 196 - The Saturday Morning Toniko Run

Run # 195 - The Friday Rain Soaked Toniko Run

Run # 194 - The Thursday Toniko Run

Run # 193 - The Wednesday Toniko Run
